Master in the Study of Law - Application Form

Our application is currently open for Fall 2015. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates who wish to apply for the M.S.L. Program must have received a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by the time they enroll in the M.S.L. Program.

As a part of your application you will be required to submit the following documents:

Application Form, Personal Statement, and Resume:

  • Please complete all required fields and follow the directions carefully. After completing our online application form, you will be prompted to upload your personal statement and a current resume or CV.  Your personal statement should be approximately 500 words and indicate why you wish to attend the M.S.L. program at the University of Georgia School of Law. Please submit these documents in either .PDF or .DOC format.

Please submit official transcripts and proof of degree(s) for all colleges and universities that you have attended. Official records do not have to be sent directly from the university or college, but must be authenticated with a signature and/or seal. Two (2) letters of recommendation are required, and we will accept up to three (3) letters of recommendation. Please have your recommenders send their letters directly to the University of Georgia Law M.S.L. program. Acceptable standardized test scores include LSAT, GMAT, MCAT, or GRE*. Applicants may send their score(s), or may direct the testing agency to send the scores directly to the M.S.L. program at the University of Georgia School of Law.

*We will consider waiving the standardized test requirement for applicants that meet specific criteria. For more information about requesting and waiver, contact Graduate Legal Studies directly at gradlgl@uga.edu.

I understand and agree that providing false information or failing to disclose information material to my admission to the LL.M. Program is grounds for punitive action to be taken, which could include rescission of my admission or dismissal. I understand that any material false statement made knowingly and willfully by me on this application, or any documents attached hereto may, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 16-10-71--which provides that upon conviction, a person who knowingly commits the offense of false swearing shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment for not less than one or more than five years, or both—subject me to prosecution in a court of law. Additionally, I further understand than any such false statement may subject me to immediate dismissal from the institution.
