The
Law Library is pleased to welcome our newest staff member, Gareth
Griffin, to the Circulation Department. Although new to Circ, Gareth
worked in Acquisitions processing government documents as a student
worker from 2003-2005. He is currently completing his Master's
thesis
in History from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The title of
his thesis is "Flames Of Hate: The Upstairs Lounge Fire, June
24,
1973", which refers to a landmark tragedy in gay and lesbian
history.
Feel free to ask Gareth for details!
Both a biblio- and Anglophile, Gareth enjoys books on history, spies
and conspiracies. He also likes watching movies as long as they
aren't
horror flicks. He abhors absurdly high humidity and heat (he says
Georgia has nothing on Louisiana), pollen and diet sodas.
Gareth is originally from Lafayette, Louisiana but grew up here in
Georgia. He lived in San Francisco for as long as he could afford it
(one year), and we are glad that he is now back in Athens.
