1Ls: remember to sign up for Lexis and Westlas training!
Lexis and Westlaw Training for 1Ls
The required Lexis and Westlaw training for 1Ls starts
next week. As part of your Research & Writing class you must attend
two training sessions for each system. The first session covers case
materials and the second session covers statutory materials.
A message was sent to all 1L students before the holidays and hopefully
you've already registered. If not, the training schedules and
instructions for registering online are available at http://www.law.uga.edu/library/calr/calr_training09.htm.
Also, make certain that your accounts with both systems are activated
and working before you arrive for your first training session! If you
need assistance with your Lexis or Westlaw account, stop by the
Reference Desk.
Lunch-n-Learn Sessions for Spring 2009
Come one, come all to the Law Library's Spring 2009
Lunch-n-Learn sessions. This semester we will offer a variety of
topics, including Bluebooking tips, job-hunting resources, Google maps,
Georgia legal research online, and Atlanta law library resources.
Our first session, which will provide Bluebooking tips, is specifically
designed to assist 1Ls as they "bluebook" their briefs. Keep an eye out
for our email and signs letting you know the specific date, time and
location.
As always, we'll provide pizza!
Law Dawg of the Month
This month's Law Dawg is Loki, a Norwegian Elkhound-Corgi mix who shares a home with 1L Jamie Dervin.
If you'd like your pet to go in the mix for future random drawings to choose the Law Dawg, send your photo to aburnett@uga.edu.
