Focus on Marie Mize
|
|
Marie
Mize is the Law Library’s circulation manager. She manages the business
end of the Circulation Department and our student workers who man the
circulation desk. Among her many other duties she is largely responsible
for the “Circ Attitude” of always friendly, how-can-we-help-you
courtesy. Always willing to pitch in and lend a hand, she’s also behind
most of the exhibits put on here at the law library and she makes the
DVD collection come alive with different features. Marie is not only the
chair of the Law School Staff Council but is also the Law School
representative on the UGA Staff Council. Marie has a BS in Marketing and
Management from Kennesaw State University and an MBA from Auburn.
Marie is an avid fan of all things historic especially in connection
with the University of Georgia, all aspects of baseball, and her own
family genealogy, which has an incredible line of judges, generals, and
even a Hall of Fame baseball player. Marie is also a discerning patron
of great music made here in Athens, so stop by and ask her what’s
playing around town any time.

New HeinOnline Resource for Tax & Economic Reform
|
|
The Law Library recently
acquired HeinOnline's new database: Taxation & Economic Reform in
America Parts I and II. Use this database for the legislative histories
of tax legislation, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009,
the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, Securities Act of 1933 and 1934 and much
more. Through this database researchers can look at the historical
economical foundation of the United States leading to our current
economic state. The information on regulations, laws, and legislative
histories in this new resource reach back to the late 1700's.

Reference Service Now Available via Chat!
Chat Reference is now available during the hours the Reference Desk is
staffed. Use this new service for assistance with brief questions, such
as identifying the appropriate resources to answer a question or
locating a specific resource. More complex questions usually require an
alternative method of communication, such as an in-person reference
interview.
