For the 2021 Annual Meeting, ACUNS welcomes submissions from scholars, practitioners, and students whose research and work focus on the conference theme of “Toward a Fit for Future UN System.” Submissions may comprise proposals for complete panels involving groups of scholars, or individual papers. They may also constitute roundtables centered around a certain conference theme or recently published book. More information on these submission categories is available below. Proposals that focus on challenges falling under any of the following sub-issue areas are particularly welcome:

The European Society of International Law (ESIL) Interest Group (IG) on Migration and Refugee Law is organizing a side event on 15April 2021 (Thursday) in Catania (Italy) in the framework of this year’s ESIL Research Forum in Catania (“Solidarity. The Quest for Founding Utopias of International Law”), which targets scholars at an early stage of their careers.
The Brill journal, Law & Practice of International Courts and Tribunals (LPICT) has a named a Prize in honour of H.E. Rosalyn Higgins. The deadline to submit papers to the competition is June 30, 2021.
Interpretation of Customary International Law: Methods, Interpretative Choices and the Role of Coherence 2nd TRICI-Law Conference, 25-26 November 2021, The Hague* This conference addresses the methods international judges from all branches of international law use to interpret rules of customary international law (CIL).
On July 1st, 2022, the International Criminal Court (ICC) will mark the twentieth anniversary of the entry into force of the Rome Statute, its constitutive treaty. Prior to the Court’s establishment, and through those intervening years, scholars and practitioners have energetically debated the effectiveness of its procedural architecture, it’s evidential model, and it’s deliberations on matters of fact.
The Annual Junior Faculty Forum for International Law is delighted to announce that the tenth Forum will be hosted by the South African Research Chair on International Constitutional Law in collaboration with the Institute for Comparative and International Law in Africa of the University of Pretoria.

About the workshop
The 2020-2021 cohort of Schwartz Reisman Graduate Fellows presents “Views on Techno-Utopia,” a one-day, online, interdisciplinary workshop for early career scholars.
“Views on Techno-Utopia” will bring together early career scholars in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities to follow emerging technologies—particularly AI, platforms, and surveillance tech—through the lens of techno-utopianism.
