IPL 2013 : 4th Private Law Conference (IPL)
Bangkok, Thailand Nov 11, 2013 - Nov 15, 2013 The International Association of IT Lawyers (IAITL) invites you to participate in the 4th International Conference on Private Law (IPL). The Conference is an opportunity for academics, practitioners and consultants to come together, exchange ideas, and discuss emerging issues in private law. We invite contributions focusing on private law including but not limited to: Employment and labour Finance, corporate governance, banking and investment Legislative and regulatory affairs Intellectual property Property ownership, and real estate Restitution Family law Torts Contract law Wills and estates Conflict of law Jurisdiction of the courts Choice of law and recognition of foreign judgments International judicial assistance Jurisdiction and judgments Competition Law Procedure Commercial law and bankruptcy Offshore outsourcing Communication law Sales of goods Product liability Consumer protection and marketing Environmental law Human rights Arbitration and ADR Media, entertainment and communication law Equity and trust Sports law Health and pharmaceutical law Insolvency Law and culture Energy and gas law Legal Theory Judicial Assistance The conference committee is seeking submissions of papers for oral presentations at the conference in three major categories: - Academic, peer reviewed papers - these papers will be peer reviewed by members of the program committee and other independent reviewers (where necessary) and will be published in the edited conference proceedings with ISBN. All papers will also be published in several leading international journals. Case studies, abstracts of research in progress, as well as full research papers will be considered for the conference program for presentation purposes. However, only complete papers will be published in the proceedings. Previously published peer-reviewed papers will also be considered, provided the authors (s) are granted license from the publisher and publication information are noted in the article. - Presentations based on a short abstract & non-academic papers - these papers will not be peer reviewed. These papers will be selected on merit by the program committee. This category covers corporate papers, best practices, new technologies, policy issues etc. All accepted papers will also be published in leading international journals.   ( 3 / 148 )

The Wisconsin International Law Journal‘s 2014 symposium, Creation of International Law: Exploring the International Law Components of Peace, will take place April 4-5, 2014. Abstracts are due Oct. 1, 2013. We invite internationally acclaimed women scholars and advanced PhD candidates to the second conference on the Creation of International Law, to be hosted by the University of Wisconsin on April 4-5, 2014 as part of its Wisconsin International Law Journal annual symposium. The intention is to continue and expand the network of women scholars and practitioners that was launched in 2009 in Norway to support their engagement in public international law. Business History—The Virtues and Vices of Business—Frankfurt, Germany
The 2014 Business History Conference annual meeting will be held on March 13-15, 2014, in Frankfurt, Germany. The Gesellschaft für Unternehmensgeschichte (GUG, Society for Business History) is handling local arrangements. Prizes are awarded for the best dissertation in business history (Krooss Prize), best first paper delivered by a new scholar, and best paper in the history of corporate responsibility.
The theme for the meeting will be “The Virtues and Vices of Business — A Historical Perspective.” The organizers invite papers and session proposals that address both the micro and macro levels of the virtues and vices of business in historical perspective. In keeping with longstanding BHC policy, submissions need not be directly related to the conference theme.
The deadline for receipt of all proposals (papers, panels, and Krooss Prize competition) is Sept. 15, 2013.
The Oxford Journals Doctoral Colloquium in Business History will be held in conjunction with the BHC annual meeting. This prestigious workshop, sponsored by BHC and funded by the Journals Division of Oxford University Press, will take place in Frankfurt on Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13. The colloquium is limited to ten students. Participants work intensively with a distinguished group of BHC-affiliated scholars that includes at least two BHC officers. The colloquium will discuss dissertation proposals, relevant literatures and research strategies, and employment opportunities in business history. This colloquium is intended for doctoral candidates in the early stages of their dissertation projects.
The application deadline is Nov. 15, 2013.

Second Contemporary Challenges of International Environmental Law ConferenceFACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA June 5-6, 2014 CALL FOR PAPERS This is an opportunity for interdisciplinary academic debate among legal scholars and scientists from various disciplines addressing issues of environmental protection. The topics covered by the conference include, but are not limited to: Climate Change Air Pollution Protection of Oceans Access to Water Forests Biodiversity Sustainable Development Human Rights and Environment Protection of Environment in Armed Conflicts Environment and Indigenous Peoples Green Energy Waste Management International Trade and Environmental Protection Abstracts for papers and posters must be no longer that 350 words in length and should be submitted by Thursday, September 5, 2013 through email to CCIEL@pf.uni-lj.si. The submission must include the name and title of the author, position, name and address of the current institution of employment, and a short biography. Successful applicants will be informed by October 5, 2012. The authors selected for paper presentation at the conference will be expected to submit completed papers with maximum 8,000 words in length (including footnotes and bibliography) by Saturday, March 1, 2014. The papers presented at the conference will be published in a conference book. Electronic Governance — Seoul, Republic of Korea
Paper submissions are now being accepted for the 7th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2013) to be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, Oct. 22–25, 2013. The conference is being organized by the National Information Society Agency, Republic of Korea, and the Center for Electronic Governance at the United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology.
