2. SUBSTANTIATION

Latin American, since the independence of its States and the development of international relations, have always been a source of thesis and doctrinaire stances which have contributed to the formulation of International Law, such as it occurred with the diplomatic asylum, the Drago and Calvo doctrines, as well as many others.
At this moment, when distances are shortened and Latin American countries are closer to the idea of a political and spiritual community, it is important that the basis of this thought are understood and shaped according to the interpretation of the most renowned scholars on Integration, International Relations and International Law.
The corner stone of this event is to reflect upon the conceptual legal framework available to the countries of Latin America in their regional and universal international relations, and concrete results derived from the application of these mechanisms in the dynamics of international relations developed with other states.

3. JUSTIFICATION

Such an event is justified by the need of analyzing in depth the context in which the doctrinaire and jurisprudential understanding of Latin American International Law is being discussed and built, as an outcome of relations among States subjected to International Courts and Tribunals, as well as the context of international organizations.
