Hugely successful in 2015, its inaugural year, the Access Group Legal Education Research Symposium offers law school deans, administrators, faculty and researchers from across the nation the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions on the most critical issues facing legal education today. Join your colleagues for this one-of-a-kind event that examines access, affordability and the value of legal education and the promising practices and innovative strategies to address these issues. The Symposium takes place November 16-17 in Chicago, Illinois, and will be held in conjunction with the 2016 Access Group Graduate & Professional Financial Aid Conference.
SYMPOSIUM DETAILS: The Symposium will open with speaker Tom Bevan, co-founder and executive editor of RealClearPolitics, a trusted and political source in Washington. Tom will present a post-election analysis and political outlook.
The Symposium will also feature a series of panels highlighting research and reports on our grantees' projects on:
- Diversity and Access to Legal Education
- Law School Affordability
- the Value of a Legal Degree; and
- Using Data to Inform Decisions on Issues of Access, Affordability, and Value
The Symposium program will close with speakers who will address the future of higher and legal education. However, participants are invited to attend the opening lunch and initial sessions for the Access Group financial aid conference. Conference sessions will include post-election predictions for higher education policy and the graduate and professional education policy agenda for the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.
