The Washington Journal of Environmental Law & Policy (WJELP) invites submissions for papers focused on how the legal landscape contends with the challenges of earthquakes and other natural disasters. Partnering with the University of Washington’s Environmental Law Program, WJELP will be hosting a symposium on this topic in mid-January 2017. Accepted papers will be featured in a monograph, and select authors will present at the symposium. The submission deadline is Nov. 28, 2016.

Intellectual property (IP) is an increasingly important site of social, political, and economic struggle. An emerging body of scholarship has begun to consider how IP reflects and reinforces inequalities along lines of race, gender, sexual orientation, class, and disability. This body of scholarship examines how knowledge production regimes contribute to local and global economic disparities, dispossession of oppressed peoples, and hierarchies of power.
