Georgia Legal History Foundation proudly presents "Murder,Politics and Scandal: Famous cases and Characters of the Athens Bar and Beyond." Presenters to include: U.S. District Court Judge Steve Jones, Congressman John Barrow, former Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond, former Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Norman Underwood and Georgia Law faculty members Ron Carlson, Don Johnson and Eugene Wilkes.  Topics range from important figures from the Peach State's past - Sen. Richard Russell, Judge James Barrow and Thomas R.R. Cobb - to Georgia's three governors controversy as well as university-related stories involving former Georgia Athletic Director Wallace Butts aiding Alabama to defeat Georgia on the football field and a former journalism dean shooting his ex-wife.
