116th Sibley Lecture featuring Yale Law School Dean Heather Gerken

Friday, April 13, 2018 - 3:30pm
Hatton Lovejoy Courtroom

Heather Gerken, the dean of Yale Law School, will deliver the 116th Sibley Lecture titled "The Lessons of Lawyering: Why Ours is an Honorable Profession." Gerken will begin her lecture with a simple question:  Why is it that lawyers -- long condemned as “hired guns” -- stand up for the rule of law? The reason is their training.  Law schools are one of the few remaining spaces where students are trained  to question everything and yet still believe in something.
