Business Etiquette Dinner

On Thursday, November 7 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., registered students can take part in an Etiquette Dinner and Reception at the Law School. The etiquette school Perfectly Polished will provide instruction for how to navigate receptions and plated dinners as well as other business etiquette issues. A full seated dinner will be provided so that everyone can put into practice what they are learning. (See below for a list of included topics.) Business attire is required.

Co-sponsored by the First Start Coordinator and the Career Development Office.  Registration is limited and is on a first-come, first served basis. Registration is limited to current UGA Law students only. Please register via Symplicity or by emailing profdev@uga.edu.

Etiquette Topics include:

1. Reception
a. How to get in/out of conversations, circulating
b. Handling beverage & plate
c. Initial impression – entering the room
d. Identifying body language, using eye contact

2. Dining
a. 2-3 courses, typical banquet food (salad, entrée)
b. American and Continental styles
c. Visual aids are used to reinforce concepts

3. Follow up - Thank you notes
4. Using business cards
5. Where & when to wear name badges
