Dear Prospective Georgia Law Review Members:

Thank you for your interest in the Georgia Law Review. Each year, the Law Review offers membership to a limited number of highly motivated members of the rising 2L class who have demonstrated exceptional academic abilities and legal writing skills. Membership on the Review is determined by a combination of first-year grades and performance on a "Write-On" exercise designed to test applicants' legal reasoning, writing, and citation skills. Write-on packets are distributed in the spring semester of their 1L year immediately following final exams. Students wishing to be considered must complete the exercises in approximately three weeks and return their packets for evaluation by the current members. Newly selected Georgia Law Review members will be notified in late July prior to their second year.

Your first year as a member of the Law Review will be a demanding but rewarding time. If you should be selected for membership, you will be required to attend an orientation session in early August (typically the weekend before the start of classes) to learn about the Law Review, its operation and your responsibilities. New members are a critical part of the publication process and your work will begin immediately upon your return. In addition, all new members will be expected to produce a "Note" of publishable quality during their first year as a member of the Law Review.

Membership on the Georgia Law Review is an honor bestowed on a small group of exceptional law students. Our members have gone on to clerk for members of the federal judiciary, including the United States Supreme Court, practice with some of the most well-respected firms in the nation, distinguish themselves in service of the public, and many have returned for careers in academia. Whatever you choose to do upon graduation, we are confident that you will find your work on the Law Review both fulfilling and of extraordinary value in your future legal careers.
