Not infrequently floppy diskettes have been known to fail - even the morning you've come in to print out the paper on which your entire class grade will be judged - therefore, if a file is important to YOU, 

• Back it up in more than one place. (When using the computer lab PCs, you will have access to your own network drive space on our Student server, which is a handy backup location.)
• If you rely on floppy diskettes, copy your document onto at least two diskettes
• With a lengthy, ongoing project, print out a hard copy occasionally.
