Professional Biographical Information:
Anne
Burnett is no stranger to the University of Georgia School of Law
Alexander Campbell King Law Library. While she currently serves as the
foreign and international law librarian, she also spent many hours in
the law library while she was earning her J.D. degree from UGA.
Before
returning to the University of Georgia School of Law, she worked in the
Legislative Reference Library in Austin, TX, and in the Young Law
Library at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Burnett is a
member of the library's steering group, which sets goals and policies
for the library. She currently provides legal reference
services using electronic and print resources; serves as the primary
provider of reference services for the international, foreign and
comparative law collections; conducts bibliographic instruction; and
maintains the law library’s foreign and international Web sites. In
addition, she helps prepare policies and procedures regarding the
processing and acquisition of foreign and international legal
materials. Burnett also teaches a course in international legal
research and assists with the graduate legal seminar.
Burnett’s other professional legal experience
includes working as deupty legislative counsel at the Legislative
Counsel Bureau for the Nevada Legislature in Carson City, NV. She also
worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Deborah A. Agosti,
Second Judicial District Court, State of Nevada.
Burnett received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada (1985), a Juris Doctor cum laude
from the University of Georgia School of Law (1990) and a Master in
Library and Information Science from the University of Texas in Austin
(1994).
Burnett is a member of the state bars of California and
Nevada. She is active in the American Association of Law Libraries and
the American Society of International Law.
