Mission
Statement
The Law Library provides
resources and expertise to support the instructional mission of the School
of Law and the scholarly research of the law faculty. The Law Library
is also an important sources of legal information for the university community,
attorneys, and private citizens.
Vision Statement
In support of our mission, the Alexander Campbell King Law Library staff pledge:
- We will be an essential element in advancing the strategic plan of the School of Law;
- We will
provide excellent library service to all library users, regardless of
age, disability, ethnicity, gender, political views, race, religion, or
sexual orientation;
- We will
develop, organize, preserve, and make available the most comprehensive
collection of materials about law and legal systems that can be
assembled using the resources available to the Law Library;
- We will uphold the principle that legal information must be available to anyone who desires it;
- We will teach library users how to use the information resources available to them regardless of the format of those resources;
- We will use new information technologies for the betterment of the School of Law;
- We will strive to be a contributing partner to faculty members in their instruction and research;
- We will provide law students with a positive, supportive environment in which to thrive during their law school careers;
- We will know our users so well that we anticipate their needs and provide for them before we are asked;
- We will nurture and support career
development for the staff of the Law Library, recognizing that only excellent staff can deliver excellent library service;
- We will
aspire to provide state-of-the-art physical facilities that are clean,
technologically current, and aesthetically pleasing;
