Reference librarians should not: • Solicit a detailed description of the user’s factual situation• Speculate as to the outcome of an issue • Tell a patron what procedural steps to follow • Appear before adjudicative bodies on behalf of patrons • Complete legal forms for patrons • Interpret legal materials
