Sohn Library Usage Policy

Primary Purposes:
1. The Sohn Library houses the Louis B. Sohn Collection on International Relations.
2. The Sohn Library provides a space for library patrons to use the materials in that collection.

Secondary Purposes:
1. The Sohn Library is available as a study area for Law Faculty.
2. The Sohn Library is available as a meeting area to persons with keycard access (see below). Meetings in the space shall be calendared by the Circulation Office.
Note: use of the Sohn Library for study or meetings is subject to interruption by Law Library staff and patrons wishing to use the collection. For this reason, the space should not be used for classes, interviews and other uses for which interruption is unacceptable.

Access to the Sohn Library: Access to the Sohn Library via keycard is provided to Law Library staff, Law Faculty, and Law School senior administrative staff. Access by all other persons must be provided for and supervised by Law Library staff.

Circulation of Materials: Under no circumstances shall persons other than Law Library staff remove any of the materials housed in the Sohn Library. Persons wishing to check out circulating materials from the Sohn Library may request the items at the Circulation Desk (see separate Sohn Collection Circulation Policy for criteria used in determining circulation status).

No Food or Beverages: Food and beverages are not allowed in the Sohn Library.
