West was featured in the Deseret News regarding the importance of understanding how the process of journalism works in the age of social media. After much thoughtful consideration, due to the predicted forecast of rain and cold temperatures, the 29th Annual School of Law Homecoming BBQ will be held inside the Law School (Hirsch Hall). This is the first time in our Homecoming BBQ history that we have had to make this call, and while it certainly shifts the layout, the fun surely remains. UGA School of Law creates endowed scholarship in support of LGBTQ diversity

Thanks to gifts from a diverse array of supporters, the University of Georgia School of Law is creating an endowed scholarship in support of LGBTQ diversity. The Stonewall Equality Scholarship Fund will benefit students who will contribute significantly to the diversity of the law school student body because they have demonstrated leadership in matters of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender individuals, or they have worked to build or are able to describe how they plan to advance LGBTQ persons’ full equality or dignity during their careers as lawyers.


Public Interest Practicum to receive state bar Access to Justice Award

The School of Law's Public Interest Practicum has been selected as the 2019 Group Recipient of the State Bar of Georgia Law School Excellence in Access to Justice Award. The practicum was recognized for increasing access to justice, providing high quality, innovative legal solutions and exposing the “lawyers of tomorrow the ideals of pro bono publico and professionalism.”
