Bemis named Spurgeon Fellow

Congratulations to Georgia Law first-year student Karen S. Bemis who has been awarded the school's 2010 Spurgeon Public Service Fellowship. Supported by the Edward D. and Carol J. Spurgeon Public Service Fund, the fellowship is awarded annually to a Georgia Law student who has completed their first or second year of law school, is working in a low-paying public service summer position and has demonstrated a commitment to public service.

Environmental Practicum Director Laurie A. Fowler has been named the recipient of GreenLaw's Ogden Doremus Award for Excellence in Environmental Law, which is given annually to a lawyer who has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to protecting natural resources.
