Georgia Law wins ABA Tax Challenge

Congratulations to third-year law student Morgan L. Klinzing and second-year law student Benjamin Newell for winning the 2014 ABA Law Student Tax Challenge. Approximately 90 teams from law schools across the country competed in this tournament where two-person teams solve a cutting-edge and complex business problem that might arise in everyday tax practice.  Professor Camilla E. Watson coached the team.

Georgia Law wins "best of the best" national moot court competition

Congratulations to third-year students Margaret E. “Maggy” Randels and Utrophia D. Robinson who won first place in the invitation-only Andrews Kurth Moot Court National Championship. Additionally, Robinson was named the second best oralist, and the pair prepared the third best brief. This tournament pitted the best moot court programs from across the country against each other, with only 16 law schools selected to participate based on their performance during the 2012-13 academic year.  

Barnett selected to present paper at SEALS conference

Assistant Professor Kent H. Barnett was selected to present his paper "Codifying Chevmore" at the 2014 Southeastern Association of Law Schools Annual Conference in August. His paper is one of four selected as the winners of the 2014 SEALS Call for Papers Competition.
