Hellerstein’s treatise cited by Oregon Supreme Court

Distinguished Research Professor & Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Walter Hellerstein's treatise on state taxation was cited four times by the Supreme Court of Oregon in the course of its opinion in Powerex Corp. v. Department of Revenue, 357 Or. 40 (2015), which addressed the attribution of sales of natural gas and electricity for state corporate income tax purposes.

In Memoriam: Eric M. "Rick" Holmes

Georgia Law regrets to announce the passing of Professor Eric M. "Rick" Holmes, who joined the Georgia Law faculty in 1977. He taught in the areas of insurance, contracts and Uniform Commercial Code for more than one decade in Athens. Holmes passed away on March 28, and he is survived by his wife, Dale.

UGA Alumni Association to present awards, White to receive faculty award and Blanchard to receive alumni award

The University of Georgia Alumni Association will present six awards to alumni, friends and faculty during its 78th annual Alumni Awards Luncheon on April 17. The awards will recognize individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment to bettering the university. Rebecca Hanner White is receiving the Faculty Service Award. The Alumni Merit Award will be presented to James H. Blanchard (LL.B.'65) and C.L. Morehead Jr.
