In Memoriam: Anne Proffitt Dupre

Georgia Law regrets to announce the passing of Hosch Professor Anne Proffitt Dupre. This highly respected scholar, teacher, mentor and friend passed away June 22. A 1988 alumna of Georgia Law, she joined the law school faculty in 1994 and specialized in education law and contract law.

 


Suzanne Graham coordinates "star" session at annual ALA meeting

Cataloging Services Librarian Suzanne R. Graham has planned and will moderate the Linked Data session "Linked In: Library Data and the Semantic Web" at the 2011 American Library Association conference in New Orleans, La., in June. Graham's upcoming session has received "star" status by the Library Journal, meaning it has the greatest potential to provide learning, useful information, inspiration, enlightenment and/or entertainment.


UGA School of Law alumni association presents highest award to Bowen and Butler

Georgia Law's alumni association recently honored longtime U.S. District Court Judge Dudley H. Bowen Jr. and Columbus attorney James E. Butler Jr. with its Distinguished Service Scroll Award for their dedication and service to the legal profession and the law school. Given annually, this award is the highest honor bestowed by the Law School Association.

Georgia Law's Sports and Entertainment Law Society was featured in the Athens Banner-Herald regarding its offering of free music law clinics during the annual AthFest celebration. The society is part of Protect Athens Music, a joint effort with Nuci's Space and UGA's Music Business Program. The article appeared on 6/21/11.
