A 2002 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and certified public accountant, Jennifer L. Chapman currently serves as the director of the Master of Accountancy program and a senior lecturer in the UGA Terry College of Business. Previously, she was an associate professor of legal studies and accounting and the assistant dean of the School of Business at Georgia Gwinnett College. Chapman also practiced law in Athens, GA, for five years, specializing in tax law and trusts and estates. Before that, she served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Georgia in Columbus for two years. She has also worked as a tax specialist for a Big 4 (then Big 8) accounting firm in Atlanta. Chapman's research interests lie in the areas of tax law, nonprofit entities, business organizations and accounting/legal ethics. While earning her law degree, Chapman served on the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review and held the editor-in-chief post during her last year. She was also inducted into the Order of the Coif at Georgia Law. Chapman earned both her BBA in Accounting, first honor graduate, summa cum laude, with honors, and her Master of Accountancy degree in Taxation, summa cum laude, from UGA.
