Harry Stone Memorial Scholarship

Deadline:
Friday, December 15, 2017
Award Amount:

$500

Over years of practice as a real estate lawyer serving residents in the California region, I have seen first hand the devastating effects of discrimination and other violations of tenant rights. What makes these violations even worse is that tenants are very often unaware of the legal rights that they have?

Fortunately, those rights can be enforced in a court of law, thereby cementing them and protecting you against retaliation, eviction, violation of habitability rights, and other similar transgressions.

In order to promote greater awareness of tenant rights, I have created an annual $500 scholarship that will promote better education and vigilance, contributing to more legal protections for tenants. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must create a video essay that answers the question "Why Is It Is Important for Courts to Uphold Tenant Rights?"
