Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic recently obtained an approximately $4.3 million verdict for its client in the Carroll County Superior Court. Third-year law students Hannah M. Peters and Ellis H.P. Schmitt represented the clinic’s client at the trial under the supervision of Staff Attorney Brian Atkinson (J.D.’13), with the support of Clinic Director Emma M. Hetherington (J.D.’11). Esther Panitch of Panitch Ivory Law Group served as cocounsel.

School of Law graduate Devin Mashman (J.D.’21) also represented the client in earlier proceedings before the Georgia Supreme Court while a participant in the Wilbanks CEASE Clinic.

Others who worked on the case include Social Work Advocate Jocelyn Crumpton, who was aided by social work intern J. Simone Hayes, who is now a first-year student at the School of Law.
