Lori A. Ringhand joined Georgia Law in the fall of 2008 and was promoted to Hosch Professor in 2012. She teaches courses on constitutional law, election law, and state and local government. In 2012 Ringhand became the newest program director for the law school's semester abroad program at Oxford University.
Ringhand holds a BCL degree in European and Comparative Law from Oxford University. She has also served as a visiting scholar at the Oxford Institute of European and Comparative Law, and was the faculty member in residence for the Oxford program in 2011 and 2014.
In 2010, Ringhand received the C. Ronald Ellington Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Ellington Award winner is selected by the graduating class and is given to the faculty member who most effectively conveys his or her knowledge and understanding of what the law is and inspires students to think analytically and critically about what the law can become.
