Georgia Law presents restored book collection in honor of late Judge B. Avant Edenfield - 4/26/16
Georgia Law's Alexander Campbell King Law Library earlier this year oversaw the preservation of a collection of United States Reports and other legal references. The project was funded by the A.S. Mitchell Foundation, on the board of which alumni Kenneth G. Vinson (J.D.'71) and Benjamin J. Vinson (J.D.'02) serve. The books, which recount Supreme Court decisions from the 1880s to the 1920s, were badly damaged in a South Georgia fire and required preservation by conservators. The restored collection was presented to the law school community during Preservation Week in honor of the late Judge B. Avant Edenfield (J.D.'58), who served in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
