A partner in the Atlanta Office of Kilpatrick Stockton, Dean W. Russell advises multinational companies on implementing strategies for protecting intellectual property rights worldwide. A member of the firm’s executive committee, Russell was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Intellectual Property Law in 2013 and has been included in the list for the past 12 years. Additionally, he was named in the International Who's Who of Patent Lawyers in 2011 and in the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers for Patents in 2011. Russell has taught as an adjunct professor of intellectual property law at Georgia Law and the University of Tennessee. Before entering private practice, he assisted with the development of computer simulations for the U.S. Army’s PATRIOT missile system’s guidance and detonation equipment. Russell earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982, his master’s in engineering from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in 1984 and his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Georgia Law in 1987.
