A 2002 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and certified public accountant, Jennifer L. Chapman currently serves as a senior lecturer and director of the Master of Accountancy Program at the UGA Terry College of Business. Previously, she was an assistant professor of legal studies and accounting at Georgia Gwinnett College. Chapman also practiced law in Athens, GA, for five years, specializing in tax law and trusts and estates. Before that, she served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Georgia in Columbus for two years. She has also worked as a tax specialist for a Big 4 (then Big 8) accounting firm in Atlanta. Chapman's research interests lie in the areas of tax law, nonprofit entities, business organizations and accounting/legal ethics. While earning her law degree, Chapman served on the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review and held the editor in chief post during her last year. She was also inducted into the Order of the Coif at Georgia Law. Chapman earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude and her master’s degree from UGA, both in the area of accounting.
