Sarah S. Baines joined the Georgia Law staff in 2013 as a major gifts officer for the Office of Law School Advancement. Her responsibilities include raising major gifts, coordinating law firm fundraising initiatives, engaging alumni volunteers and cultivating relationships as well as assisting with a variety of giving programs to grow private support and to ensure a strong future for the law school.
Previously Baines served as the director of development for UGA’s School of Public and International Affairs, where she managed all aspects of the school’s fundraising efforts, working closely with the dean of the school to identify fundraising priorities, to develop an annual development plan and to secure both annual and major gift support.
From 2001 to 2006, Baines served as the assistant director and later as the associate director and interim director of UGA’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Development Office. In her leadership role, she oversaw all aspects of the college’s fundraising efforts for its 30 departments, 20 centers and institutes and student body of approximately 15,000.
She earned her master’s degree in ruminant nutrition at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and her bachelor’s degree in animal science at UGA.
