Biographical Information

Tessa R. Davis is an associate professor of law at the University of South Carolina School of Law, specializing in taxation and tax policy. Her research focuses on how tax law and policy are influenced by culture and her interests include the intersection of tax law with other areas including immigration, family, technology and health. Her scholarship has appeared in numerous journals and she frequently participates in conferences and workshops. She also served as a visiting professor at Tulane University.

Davis earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Davidson College and her master’s degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science. She earned her law degree magna cum laude from Florida State University, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She earned her LL.M. from New York University.
