Russell C. Gabriel and other UGA faculty receive support for research on poverty

For the fifth consecutive year, University of Georgia faculty have been awarded grants to support creative scholarship on issues related to poverty. Georgia Law Criminal Defense Clinic Director Russell C. Gabriel was among this year's recipients. He will be exploring the impacts of financial burden on poor and indigent defendants.


Georgia Law embarks on training program for Middle Eastern judges

Georgia Law Dean Rusk Center’s International Judicial Training Program has partnered with the Dubai Judicial Institute to begin training judges, lawyers and court officials from the Middle East. This is the first time the IJTP has traveled outside of the United States to conduct on-site instruction, and according to Rusk Center Director C. Donald Johnson, the timing could not be better.

President of India presents award to UGA School of Law’s Dean Rusk Center

Georgia Law’s Dean Rusk Center was recently honored in India for its work in the area of international legal education and outreach with an International Jurists Award. The award was presented to Rusk Center Director C. Donald Johnson during the International Conference of Jurists in New Delhi by the President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil.
