Margaret Sachs' scholarship referenced in U.S. Supreme Court oral argument

An article written by Margaret V. Sachs, the holder of the Alston Chair in Corporate Law, was referenced several times during the oral argument before the U.S. Supreme Court in Morrison v. National Australia Bank. Justice Breyer asked each attorney to respond to the argument she made in an article entitled The International Reach of Rule 10b-5: The Myth of Congressional Silence, 28 Columbia Journal of Transnational Law 677 (1990).

Renowned intellectual property law expert to speak on entertainment issues

Georgia Law's Dean Rusk Center will host two intellectual property law lectures in April featuring Martin Kretschmer. Considered an expert in his field, Kretschmer will discuss his groundbreaking work in artist compensation in the European Union April 6 at 1:30 p.m. Kretschmer's research on the international franchising of television formats such as "American Idol" will be explored the following day (April 7) at 12:30 p.m.

Georgia Law's Alexander Campbell King Law Library was recently named as one of the top law libraries in the nation by The National Jurist magazine. The ranking, which appeared in the March edition, placed the library 26th.
