The Supreme Court: Current Term

Course Description: 

This course will explore the role, the operations, and the internal workings of the Supreme Court, as well as key aspects of legal practice before the Court. Students will be required to generate assigned written work, perhaps involving a “bench memo” and all or part of a merits brief. They also may be called upon to prepare and present an oral argument and/or to serve in the role of Justices in cases argued during class sessions.  Satisfactory participation in the class will satisfy the Law School’s “capstone” writing requirement.
