Biographical Information: 

James M. McGee is a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta, where he heads the legal teams for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang a well as Turner program acquisitions and content commercialization. He oversees legal matters pertaining to the production of original content, licensed acquisitions, outbound licensing, on-air promotions, digital, gaming, and websites. He focuses on general intellectual property counseling and negotiating as well as drafting and administering development, production, licensing, distribution and technology agreements with partners such as the NBA, Apple, and major movie and television studios.

Prior to his work at Turner, McGee worked as an associate attorney and paralegal for intellectual property and technology transactions at King & Spalding in Atlanta.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. cum laude from Georgia Law, where he served as the executive notes editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law.
