Air Travel

The nearest airport to Athens is Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. The busiest airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson is the home airport for Delta Airlines and a focus airport for Southwest. The airport serves most other low-cost airlines. The airport offers a large number of non-stop flights to and from communities around the U.S. The airport is located roughly 80 miles from downtown Athens.

Regular shuttle service exists between Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and Athens, through Groome Transportation. Reservations in advance are required. Fares cost costs $39 one way, $78 round trip. Shuttles run every hour. We have confirmed that Groome Transportation can add shuttles if reservations exceed the capacity of the regular schedule.

Rental Cars

All major rental car companies operate out of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Prices will vary, depending on rental car company and model of car. As of December 2017, for a rental between March 8 and March 11, prices range between $90 and $160. We recommend reserving early.

For those with cars, parking will be available in a campus parking deck about a block and a half from the Law School. We expect to have a limited number of parking passes available for that deck. Parking is also available in a municipal parking deck about 4 blocks away from the Law School.
