Congratulations to rising third-year law student Ashland J. Johnson who was recently selected to serve a two-year term on the national board of directors for the American Constitution Society. She also received a Next Generation Leaders appointment.


Rollins becomes assistant dean

Georgia Law Director of Admissions Paul B. Rollins was recently named assistant dean for student affairs. In addition to leading the school's Admissions Office, Rollins will now also oversee its Legal Career Services Office and its Student Affairs & Registrar Office.


Fazal Khan to be primary legal consultant for new epigenetics research center

Assistant Professor Fazal Khan is part of a team that was recently awarded a three year National Institutes of Health grant to create an Interdisciplinary Center on the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications of Epigenetics Research. Khan will be serving as the primary legal consultant for the project alongside principal investigators from the Oregon Health Sciences University.

Georgia Law regrets to announce the passing of Associate Dean and Kirbo Chair Gabriel M. Wilner on May 21.  A Georgia Law faculty member for more than 35 years, Dean Wilner will be missed.


Georgia Law ranks 10th in the nation for federal judicial clerkships

The U.S.News & World Report recently looked at which law schools are sending the largest proportions of their graduates on to judicial clerkships for federal judges. In their ranking, which was based on 2008 graduates, Georgia Law placed 10th in the nation.
