Professor and Law Library Director Emeritus Erwin C. Surrency was recently recognized for his role in founding the American Journal of Legal History as well as for serving for 25 years as the journal's editor and editor emeritus. Surrency's contributions were highlighted in an article on the history of the journal that appeared in its 50th volume.

Georgia Law professor Randy Beck has been appointed the first holder of the Justice Thomas O. Marshall Chair of Constitutional Law. This chair was established by Angie Fitts Marshall in honor of her late husband, Thomas O. Marshall Jr. (LL.B.'48). It is designed to strengthen the programs of the law school by supporting the work of a full professor of outstanding national reputation.

Cleveland Distinguished Chair of Legal Ethics and Professionalism Lonnie T. Brown Jr. presented his working paper "Officers of the Court or Children of the Judiciary?" at the Mid-Year Meeting of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers during February.
