The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the nation's health protection agency, responsible for saving lives and protecting people from health, safety, and security threats.

Heather Huntley, Senior Attorney with the HHS Office of the General Counsel, CDC Branch, will be holding virtual "Office Hours" on September 23, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., for students interested in learning more about CDC, its legal office, and externship/internship opportunities with the agency. Students will register for a 30-minute small group session between 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

In celebration of Open Access Week (October 19-25), the law library will host a panel of University of Georgia School of Law faculty to provide greater context for the film, what open access is, how it relates to open educational resources, and legal implications of digital and information activism.

In conjunction with the UGA Philosophy Dept., alumni of the law school, Mike Loebl and Rory Weeks, will be participating in a panel sharing their journey from a philosophy degree to a law degree. Panelists will also discuss how the two have intersected post-graduation.
