Joel O. Wooten Distinguished Law Fellowship Fund -

The purpose of the Fund is to provide a merit-based distinguished fellowship for a deserving law student(s) at the University of Georgia School of Law ("School"). The fellowship will provide tuition and professional development support to an incoming law student(s) and will remain with that student(s) for the duration of his/her law school education at Georgia Law, provided he/she remains in good academic standing and is making satisfactory progress toward completion of his/her law degree. Preference shall be given to students with superior academic records who have demonstrated an interest in public service through their undergraduate course work, student government leadership, previous employment, and/or volunteer experience. Preference shall also be given to students who intend to work in the plaintiffs' practice area and to work in south or middle Georgia. Recipients of the fellowship will be known as "Wooten Fellows." This Fund may also be used to provide partial scholarships at the discretion of the Dean of the School.
