Michael Stone joined the University of Georgia School of Law as the assistant director of admissions and recruitment in fall 2025. In this role, he supports a broad range of Juris Doctor recruitment initiatives, including prospective student advising and the planning and execution of key outreach events.
Prior to his current position, Stone spent seven years in undergraduate admissions at the University of Georgia. For four of those years, he served as assistant director of undergraduate admissions, overseeing recruitment territories nationwide. He regularly traveled to meet with prospective students and school counselors at both high schools and two-year colleges. While on campus in Athens, he played an active role in coordinating admissions programs and managing communications for incoming students. His responsibilities also included assisting with application review, scholarship consideration, and selection processes for both first-year and transfer applicants.
Before joining UGA, Stone began his admissions career at the University of North Georgia, where he served as an admissions officer from 2016 to 2018.
Stone earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Gwinnett College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Georgia. He also holds graduate certificates in Diversity and in Transfer Leadership and Practice from UNG. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree at the University of North Georgia.
