The School of Law is pleased to share that 100% of the first-generation college graduates and military veterans enrolled in its Juris Doctor program are receiving scholarship aid. First-generation students are supported by more than 12 scholarship funds including the First-Start Scholars Program and student veterans benefit from the Butler Commitment.

Awardees and initiates were recognized at the university’s annual Tucker Dorsey Blue Key Awards Banquet on Oct. 15 at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. Among the honorees were 2014 graduate David B. Dove with the Blue Key Young Alumnus Award and first-year law student Frank Lumpkin IV with the Russell Student Leadership Award.

Congratulations to third-year students Alexandria H. Clarke, Donavan C. Juleus and Bradley R. "Brad" Spinner who finished the Burton D. Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Competition as national quarterfinalists.

The University of Georgia School of Law defeated the University of Florida College of Law in the 2021 Florida/Georgia-Hulsey/Gambrell Moot Court Competition. Representing the School of Law in the moot court competition were third-year law students Olivia B. Landrum and Roya Naghepour. This year's win adds to UGA's outstanding performances, bringing its overall tournament record to 26-11-2 and recording its fourth straight victory!

Congratulations to second-year student Taylor F. McClain for receiving a Corporate Counsel Women of Color "My Life as a Lawyer Scholarship." She is one of 25 recipients nationwide. The scholarship supports "law students of color who display outstanding legal talent, as well as a strong commitment and dedication to serving their communities."
