The University of Georgia School of Law is excited to announce five recent hires. Each of these individuals will bring specialized expertise to our intellectual enterprise and play a role in educating the next generation of legal leaders for state and society.   

Joining the School of Law in July of 2026, Assistant Professor María P. Angel will teach in the areas of torts, data privacy, and AI law and policy. Angel most recently served as a resident fellow with the Information Society Project at Yale Law School. She earned her bachelor’s and law degrees from the Universidad de los Andes and her LL.M. from the Universidad del Rosario. In 2024, she received her Ph.D. in Law from the University of Washington, where she served as an articles editor of the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts. 

Assistant Professor Mateusz “Matt”  Blaszczyk will join the School of Law in July and will teach property, law and technology, intellectual property, and an undergraduate artificial intelligence law and ethics course. He comes to UGA from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a research fellow in law and mobility and co-led a seminar on emerging technologies and the law. Blaszczyk earned his LL.B. from King’s College London and his LL.M. from Georgetown University, where he served as LL.M. adviser and editor of the Georgetown Journal of International Law.

Clinical Assistant Professor Brenda J. Gohr joined the School of Law in April as the new director of the Veterans Legal Clinic. In addition to more than 15 years of military service (both active duty and reserve) in the U.S. Air Force, Gohr most recently served as of counsel for The Veteran’s Advocate and operated her own legal practice specializing in veteran and military law. She earned her B.A. cum laude from Bowling Green State University and her Juris Doctor from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Taylor Nchako will join the School of Law in the fall semester of 2027 as an assistant professor. She will teach property, environmental law, and a U.S. trade in Africa seminar. She is presently serving as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Nchako earned two bachelor’s degrees summa cum laude from UGA and a J.D. cum laude from Northwestern University, where she served as the online editor-in-chief of the Northwestern University Law Review.  

Myles B. Solomon joined the University of Georgia School of Law in the fall of 2025 as the director of the Sports Law Program, which will provide students a solid foundation in the rapidly evolving and complex legal landscape of athletic pursuits. While working as a lawyer and agent for more than 20 years, he specialized in the representation of NCAA Division I football coaches, basketball coaches and athletic directors. In addition, he has represented NFL players as an NFLPA-licensed agent and has been at the forefront of NIL representation.
