Type of work:
Students will be paired with experienced attorneys across a variety of practice areas. Placements vary depending on the Company's legal needs and the students' professional interests. Past externs have been paired with attorneys specializing in trademark law, patent law, marketing law, corporate law, corporate litigation, employment law and employment litigation, securities law, food law, environmental law, ethics & compliance, and privacy law.
Students attend weekly lectures (held on Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:00 pm) given by senior Company counsel, who discuss their practice areas and career paths. Participation in the program is dependent on the student's ability to attend these mandatory meetings. Also, students are required to attend a mandatory orientation session held on the first Thursday of the program, which will last from 2:30 to 4:00 pm.
Note: Externship is expected to be hybrid.
