George Biashvili began teaching at the University of Georgia School of Law in 2024. He currently teaches Torts II and Contracts. His research examines how generative AI challenges the boundaries of common law privacy, defamation and the First Amendment.
His article “Stolen Likeness: The Need for a New Tort in the Age of AI” is forthcoming in the Southern California Law Review. Biashvili also authored the open-access textbook “Defamation, Privacy, and the First Amendment: Cases & Problems,” which serves as the primary text for his Torts II course.
Prior to entering academia, Biashvili served as litigation associate at Latham & Watkins, where he worked on numerous copyright and complex commercial matters. He also maintained an active pro bono practice, handling both asylum and post-conviction cases.
Biashvili is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 2/504th Parachute Infantry Regiment and later in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. He spent much of his life in Germany and is fluent in multiple languages.
Biashvili earned his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Liberty University and his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. At Harvard, he served as an editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation and received the Dean’s Award for Community Leadership.
