Biographical Information

SeongEun Kim is a Visiting Scholar for the 2018-2019 academic year, in residence at the Dean Rusk International Law Center. While in residence, Kim will conduct research on comparative labor standards in the United States and South Korea.

Kim is a member of the administrative staff in the Department of Human Resources of Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. He has been with the University since 2006, and has served in the planning and budgeting unit and the job recruitment support unit. Since 2010, Kim has worked in human resources; his duties include personnel management, education, and assessment. His work has been recognized with awards from Konkuk University and the Minister of the Department of Employment and Labor.

He earned his doctorate in labor law from Dongguk University, his master's and bachelor's degrees in law from Konkuk University. His primary research interests include discriminative factors between full-time workers and part-time workers in universities, legal status and its protection of faculty members, the legal nature of professors, and role and responsibility of labor unions in universities.
