The purpose of the Fund is to promote education at the University of Georgia School of Law by encouraging scholarship, in bringing outstanding leaders in the field of law and the administration of the courts teachers, legislators, judges, and lawyers who have distinguished themselves outside of the University of Georgia, to meet with the school of law faculty and the students, to consult with, teach or lecture.
The Robert Brown Lecture Fund honored Lieutenant JG Robert Thomas Brown of Elberton, who was to have earned his law degree in 1943. He was lost at sea when the submarine Scorpion sank in March 1944 during World War II.
