The Association of Administrative Law Judges will be able to offer two $1000 scholarships to deserving Georgia law students in conjunction with our Annual Education Conference in Atlanta this October. We are looking for a candidate who has already distinguished themselves in the area of public interest law and/or public interest pursuits. We welcome applications from all levels of law students attending one of the four Georgia law schools.

To apply for our scholarship please submit the following information:


1. Your resume
2. A cover letter (not exceeding 3 pages) that details the following:

  • Your contact information including phone number and email address.
  • Your academic institution and anticipated law school graduation date.
  • Your academic rank, if available, and grade point average, if available. There is no minimum class rank or grade point average associated with this scholarship. (We understand this information will not be available for first year students. If you are a first-year law student, please be certain to provide your undergraduate academic rank, if available, and grade point average.)
  • An expression as to whether you would be able to join us from around 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, or Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown, 265 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303, for lunch and the presentation of the scholarship to you.
  • Most importantly, your letter should contain a discussion of your commitment to public service, past public service, and/or your service to (present and/or past) or intention to serve adults and children with disabilities.

The Association of Administrative Law Judges is a non-profit association that represents and engages in the ongoing professional development of its member judges. Most members of the association are administrative law judges employed by or retired from the Social Security Administration where they adjudicate disputes arising under the Social Security Act. Each year, the Association organizes and hosts an educational conference designed to address specific issues relevant to the adjudication of our caseload.
