For the third consecutive year, the University of Georgia School of Law participated in a legal pop-up clinic in Troup County that offered free civil legal advice and referrals to residents. This year’s clinic – co-hosted by the School of Law, the Troup County Law Library and the Georgia Legal Services Program – assisted more than 20 individuals seeking consultation.
Third-year students Supreme Unukegwo and Gordon C. Wayne participated in the event under the guidance of Civil Externship Program and Public Interest Practicum Director Elizabeth M. Grant, Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic Director Emma M. Hetherington, Veterans Legal Clinic Director Alexander W. “Alex” Scherr and Veterans Legal Clinic Staff Attorney Ethan Smith.
The law school’s participation in the Troop County clinic is supported by a Callaway Foundation grant.
